Identity and belonging
From the war in Ukraine to the defence of borders, from cultural
cultural globalisation to the protection of minorities, from environmental problems to planning a future. In the planetary crisis what does it mean
to search for identity? To which homeland do we belong and from whom or what must we defend ourselves? If the most important value is coexistence (of us, of us with others, of us with others and nature), is it not decisive to
abandon the blind alley of identity and take the path of similarities?

At the same time, he never stopped reflecting on this identity, not only with the famous ZELIG but in all the works of his long career. We will talk (and laugh) about this by watching some scenes from his films and listening to Roberto Manassero’s analysis.

Identity and Palestine
Aperitif with Arab-Palestinian music
Shorts from the Nazra Film Festival
Nazra is a festival of short films from Palestine and about Palestine, now in its 4th edition. We chose the short film because it is a new, dynamic language, of immediate fruition even for an audience not used to subtitles. In fact, the shorts are all in the original language to allow us to listen to the living voice and words that Palestinians use to tell about themselves. But the short film is not only an artistic expression but also a political and creative sublimation of the fragmentation of Palestine experienced especially by the post-Oslo generation. Nazra in Arabic means gaze and has a double meaning: for us it means watching a filmography of the highest level but which rarely arrives on our screens outside the festival circuit, for the Palestinians it means being a filmic subject and not a mere object of someone else’s gaze.

In a future April
In un futuro aprile (In a future April) is the story of the birth of Pier Paolo Pasolini’s poetic production, his education, his political and pedagogical commitment and his first scandals.
The directorial structure seeks to reconstruct, on the one hand, the biographical account of the artist, through documents and the testimony of Nico Naldini, and on the other to evoke the poetic dimension of his texts through a visual – almost musical – score that accompanies the entire documentary.
